Sprint On Net Circuits with China Termination – Summer Olympics Notice (external)

Order Moratorium:

Although exact dates have not yet been communicated by the Chinese government, discussions are occurring among our partners and vendors with the expectation that there will be a network freeze beginning in mid June through the end of August. During this time period, all network construction and configuration in China will be suspended until the network freeze is over.
In order to meet customer telecommunications needs in China, you should encourage your customers to place orders no later than April 1. The ANCI (Asia Network Customer Implementation) team will work diligently with China carriers to install orders prior to the network freeze. Please check with Asia Program Managers for the circuit delivery time for those orders submitted after April 1.
We foresee a substantial amount of backlog orders accumulated with the China LECs (Local Exchange Carriers) after the network freeze period. Please alert your customers that the standard order interval will be prolonged. The ANCI team will work closely with the China LECs to obtain the most realistic updates once the order is placed.
Action Required by Sales Support
Please review with Asia teams on the delivery lead time and set your customer’s expectations accordingly. Additional information will be provided as it becomes available on the exact dates for the network freeze period.
