ONE WEEK BEFORE INSTINCT LAUNCHES
As a follow-up the information shared last week, there was a requirement when signing up for training via the Samsung website (for those partners [and Sprint folk] who wish to get the scoop on the tips/tricks and other facts on the Instinct)…under the ‘Carrier ID’ during the registration process, the word ‘ahead’ (lower case) is the correct access password to enter as a Sprint partner. The link is listed again for your reference – https://training.samsungtelecom.com.
PROTECT YOUR BLACKBERRY
Also, some of your customers have been experiencing a memory management issue with the BlackBerry 8130. RIM and Sprint have just released a firmware upgrade that addresses this issue. Below is the link.
https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads/entry.do?code=FC3CF452D3DA8402BEBB765225CE8C0E Choose BlackBerry 8130 Wireless Handheld from the dropdown list. The package version is 18.104.22.168. This download is also available on Sprint’s site at http://www.sprint.com/downloads . Choose BlackBerry from the dropdown list.
The displayed version number is reported as 22.214.171.124. Same download, just different displayed version numbers to match what the device will display after upgrading. This software will need to be installed by tethering the device. Over the air upgrade is not available for this fix. This is the same issue recently fixed for the 8830. Additionally, this MR addresses a potential memory leak experienced in some situations.

DATA LIMITS CLARIFICATION
The following communication points highlight the emphasis of Sprint’s position for limiting unwarranted data usage on the part of abusive IL consumer customers along with the impact of the Corporate Liable customer base. The CL definition used here is the classic legal definition:
“any situation were a corporation or government entity is liable via a contract vehicle, whether signed by both parties as a unique contract like a MSA or a CSA or, in the case of Government contracting, possibly a response to RFP contract. The new 300MB and 5GB usage limitations will not apply to customers who are Base CL customers, prior to July 13, but will apply for new CL customer accounts activated after July 13 and new CL contracts signed on or after July 13. The initial focus on implementation of the limits, prior to July 13, is on consumer and IL business customers.”
